How Touch Contributes Significantly To The Successful Training Of Your Dog

There's only one language that is understood even when it is spoken in different tongues and

that is the language of love. Everyone knows that love is essential if any relationship is going to grow. Human beings thrive on love. You only have to look at the flushed glowing faces of newly weds madly in love to know that love can transform a person.

What most people don't realize however is that animals, as much as human beings, need love. The fact that an animal cannot verbally communicate its feelings does not mean that it doesn't have any. Dogs are animals whose need for love and affection is similar to man's needs as well. If you have a dog, you have to understand that they need to be shown love and affection to grow up properly.

Dogs are pretty much like children. Without the right amount of care, they can grow up to become wild and totally uncontrollable. The contribution of touch in the care of dogs is a fairly new topic of study for dog researchers. New studies indicate that touch even before a puppy is born can contribute to its mental development. The study of dogs formerly did not include the prenatal period of a puppy's life. This was basically because technology such as the ultrasound had not yet been developed.

According to Deneberg and Whimey, puppies in their mother's womb react to touch from outside. It has been conducted that puppies, even as fotuses, have a well developed sense of touch. Scientific evidence shows that the puppies of a dog that have been shown love and affection through constant touching and petting while in their mother's womb are more docile and inclined to learn socialization skills than those who have been deprived of touch in their mother's womb.

Studies have also indicated that puppies that have been touched while in their mother's womb are more tolerant of touch than those that have not been exposed to touch before birth. If you really want to have a litter of meek and teachable dogs, it all starts in the mother's womb. Touch is a love language that even dog's understand. Treating your dog with care through touch is bound to produce puppies that will respond favorably to any dog training techniques you may employ.
